Activities for all the family return to IWM North this October Half Term

Meet the Veterans at IWM North

Throughout October Half Term visitors will be able to explore the extensive collections and hourly Big Picture Show in the Main Exhibition Space, Wyndham Lewis: Life, Art, War in the Special Exhibitions Gallery and the new café space at IWM North.
Alongside this we’ll be running the following activities for families.

TimeStack Object Handling Sessions

Suitable for all ages

Get hands on with artefacts from IWM’s collection in these themed 20-minute object-handling sessions. Join a member of IWM staff to discover the personal stories behind the artefacts in this drop-in activity. Meet at the TimeStack by the 1914-1918 section of the Timeline in the Main Exhibition Space on Level One.

Suitable for all ages

Meet our volunteer veterans and eyewitnesses for a conversation about their personal experiences of conflict. Hear about everyday life in wartime and discover their extraordinary stories. All of their experiences help us to explore the causes of war and its impact on people’s lives. Meet in the Main Exhibition Space on Level One.

We offer a great day out for all the family all year round with FREE ENTRY to the Main Exhibition Space. We provide free floor plans and trails to help you navigate our fascinating building. Our Main Exhibition Space also offers nine Action Station interactives.
We have free, self-operated lockers for your bags, lifts to all floors, accessible ground floor toilets and baby changing facilities. Our new café offers children’s menus and an indoor picnic area is also available at weekends and in the school holidays for visitors to bring their own food and refreshments. The IWM North shop offers a range of pocket money purchases including souvenirs and stationery items.
