Special Guided Walk – Birds & Habitats

Grab your binoculars and join the Park Guides to discover the variety of birds and wildlife that call Dunham their home. Meet at the Clock Tower at 11am. The walk lasts approximately two hours at a gentle pace.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic

3-4 June 2017, 12:00-16:00

If you go down to the garden today, you’re sure of a big surprise! Bring your teddy bear and a picnic to the garden and enjoy storytelling and a brass band. Garden ticket required. Don’t forget to collect your tickets at the visitor centre before heading to the garden.

Bring along your camera and explore the park as the Park Guides reveal some of the best spots to take great scenic photographs. Limited availability, pick up a token from visitor reception on the day. Meet at the Clock Tower at 11am.  The walk lasts approximately two hours at a gentle pace.

Treasures and Castles

Explore the shore, from shells to shark eggs, with a beach hunt along the sandy Sefton Coast. Collect amazing treasures washed up and decorate your own sand castle… Adults free, children £3.50. Please ensure you book for both adults and children.

Explore the sands and shallows at low tide to identify the organisms that thrive in this richly diverse habitat. Ideal for 18 to 80 year olds. Dress for the weather with waterproof footwear. Wellies or wet shoes essential for full exploration! All £5.00. Booking essential.

Rock Free Rock Pooling

16 July and 16 August 2017, 11:00-13:00

Search for sea shore life in sheltered pools around the famous ‘Footprints’ silt beds on the beach. You won’t find all of the rock pool creatures you might expect, but you’d be surprised at how much life the pools contain. Wellies or Jellies essential for full exploration! Adults free, children £3.00.
